Course description

Free admission. Quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy: 7 seats

It is admitted to the Course who, at the moment of the request, jointly holds the following curricular requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (First level Degree according to art. 3 c.1 of DM 509/99 or Degree according to art.3 c.1 of the DM 270/04);
  • Acquisition of at least 88 CFU in psychological scientific-disciplinary sectors (M-PSI/01, M-PSI/02, M-PSI/03, M-PSI/04,M-PSI/05, M-PSI/06, M-PSI/07, M-PSI/08), at least 8 CFU for each sector.

The curricular requirements at point (b) can also be acquired through the enrollment to single courses given by a Bachelor’s Degree and the passing of the related exam. In order to be enrolled, the aspiring student ( for whom have already been verified the holding of the curricular requirements, as seen in the previous points) must possess, as personal knowledge, appropriate knowledge in the various sectors of psychological disciplines and in the sectors related to human and natural sciences similar to the psychological studies. The aspiring students must also have acquired appropriate knowledge related to methods and procedures of scientific enquiry, as well as competences in communication and information management and appropriate usage skills as for written and oral English language. These requirements will be assessed by an evaluative entrance exam.

The graduate in Psychology in relational and social contexts who passed the state examination and is enrolled by the professional association of Psychologist, section A is, as a matter of fact, admitted to the Postgraduate Schools in Psychotherapy approved by MIUR ( the Italian Ministry of University and Research), as well as the graduates in the former Master’s Degree and in the old Psychology Degree, according to the law 56/89, and for the professional possibilities of the law 31, February 28, 2008. He/she is also admitted to the postgraduate university schools qualifying to psychotherapy ex DM July 24, 2006. The graduate in Psychology of Intervention in relational and social contexts is a specialist in Psychological Science ( who can carry out the psychotherapeutic practice after the attendance of further studies by Postgraduate Schools in Psychotherapy. As for the Psychology of Health, the graduate in Psychology of Intervention in relational and social contexts collaborates with local communities, schools, healthcare institutions, public or private authority to plan intervention aiming at promoting health in formal and informal settings, to the prevention of the psychosocial disease and to the improvement of the life quality of individuals, groups and communities.

The Master’s Degree Course “Psychology of Intervention in relational and social contexts” aims at providing innovative theoretical knowledge, psychosocial methodological competences and the relational skills and techniques necessary to psychologists to plan and achieve the intervention in social and communities settings (schools, job environments, institutions, formal and informal social networks, families, individuals) and in services to individual, to groups, organizations and communities, aiming at promoting the social coexistence and the quality of life as well as the individual and collective wellbeing.

The Course ends with a final exam made up of a written thesis and its presentation, of literature-review based and/or survey type, consisting of:

  • Empirical survey or intervention-survey;
  • Report of a case intervention;
  • Critical review within a scope of scientific literature.

The final exam aims at developing (and testing) the judgment autonomy reached by the student art the end of studies and of his/her learning skills. It consists of a written paper organised into sections agreed by the student and supervisor.
