The Master's Degree Course in Archaeology provides an advanced theoretical, methodological and practical preparation in the field of knowledge of archaeological heritage and, in particular, in the sectors of prehistory and protohistory; archaeology, history and classical antiquities; archaeology, history and medieval antiquities; of ancient topography; of the methodology and technologies applied to archaeology.
In providing a preparation based on an educational offer anchored to a consolidated and qualified scientific research activity carried out in the University, the Course achieves its specific educational objectives both through the interaction between knowledge and skills in the humanistic and technical-scientific fields and paying attention to the enhancement of contextual data in the archaeological field and to technological innovation. The goal is also achieved thanks to the activation of specific educational laboratories able to introduce students to the problems and applications of research in the archaeological field.
The study path includes eleven exams (ten semester exams, one annual exam) spread over two years. In the second year, the training offer is enriched by a package of laboratory activities, archaeological excavations, survey and reconnaissance; credits are also acquired by carrying out internships and by participating in seminars, conferences and conventions.
The final exam consists in the production of a written paper on issues relating to the disciplinary sectors included in the offer.
