Course description

Access is not restricted. Quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy: 20 seats The admission onto the Business Management Master’s degree programme is permitted after passing an individual interview to assess base knowledge in business administration and in economic and legal areas, as well as motivational aspects. Upon completion of the test, students who scored at least 18/30 will be able to enroll. Students who don’t meet the requirement of individual preparation can’t enroll.

All Bachelor’s Degree graduated students of Business study programmes can apply for the Master Degree in Business Management (LM-77). Students graduated in other Bachelor’s degree study programmes should possess 60 credits in all the required fields for the L-18 course, such as business administration, economics, mathematics, statistics and legal areas. Students must pass an interview in order to be admitted. Applicants should also prove they can speak another European Union language, besides Italian. The subjects concerned with the interview are: business administration, mathematics, political economics, law, statistics.

The course permits to train professionals and managers with high skills in the most strategic business areas. Students graduated in Business Management are able to pursue a career in a leadership position in businesses and public administrations, also at the international level, by deepening their knowledge in business administration, political economics, law, statistics, and English. Preparation in accountancy and law also permits to work as a freelancer. Employment opportunities: Inclusion in the business world and public administrations in all sections, nonprofit organisations with leadership positions. Professional activity as qualified accountant (upon completion of a state exam for professional licence).

The course focuses on subjects related to administration and control of businesses and the public administration. During the first year, the core module offers subjects that enable the deepening of specialised notions, and the acquisition of skills related to the analysis of managerial and legal behaviour of organisations. From the second year on, the student can choose among three different areas of specialization: Management control, Public management and Digital management. The Management Control curriculum aims to foster the acquisition of skills and methodology essential to work as a freelancer in the business area as well as in leadership positions in administration, planning and control of business management. The curriculum in Public Management is aimed at providing the acquisition of competences for measurement and management of the performances of public entities. The Digital Management curriculum is aimed at educating professionals able to combine knowledge in administration and corporate governance with specific skills in the ICT field.

The final exam is concerned with writing and presenting a thesis intended as: a) Production of a written thesis about: o analysis of relevant literature; o research on issues and practical cases; o analysis of a business case study; b) internship experience, the written thesis can concern: - internship experience and/or achieved outcomes; - investigation on issues related to the area where the student has completed the internship; - experience related to courses attended during mobility periods abroad. The student must show to have acquired knowledge, competence, and skills required by the learning objectives of the course. The final assessment will consider the student career during the whole training experience, as well as time and manner of acquirement of the ECTS credits, the marks of exams and any mobility period abroad and the oral expression capacity during the graduation session.
