Course description

Programmed 250 places available. For the academic year 2020/21 access will not be restricted. Quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy: 20 seats The admission onto the Digital Management degree programme is permitted after passing the Italian proficiency test, upon possession of a qualification. Students are required to have a high school diploma, or another equivalent suitable qualification obtained abroad in order to be admitted to the course. Applicants are required to possess an appropriate method of studying, deductive logic and verbal skills, as well as base knowledge in English and mathematics. These skills will be assessed by means of admission tests. The admission test is concerned with knowledge in logics, English, general knowledge and mathematics based on high school programmes. Additional learning requirements (OFA) can be assigned in the scientific sector SEC-S/06 – Mathematical methods of economics and actuarial and financial sciences.

The course aims to train competent professionals in the field of the digital sector, able to understand, assess and manage the opportunity and innovative capacity of technological change in traditional and innovative companies. Specifically, the employment opportunities and professional activities envisaged refer to the following positions and career opportunities: Information acquisition experts Information brokers, business information advisor Financial management experts Financial advisor, business risk analyst, financial promoter, financial products and share seller Marketing experts Responsible of promotional activities; web marketing expert; marketing and tourist management expert; operational marketing expert; strategic marketing expert.

The first two years of the course are concerned with a training programme aimed at fostering the acquisition of knowledge in the business administration, economics, mathematics, statistics and legal fields. Knowledge is aimed at applying and managing digital technological innovations. In the third year, the course will be divided into two specialization areas: economy and management. The economic curriculum, provided in English, aims to foster the acquisition of knowledge related to strategies for digital innovation, exploitation of incentives, required knowledge to provide funding to businesses, as well as data-mining, management and regulation of data and digitalisation processes, with particular reference to the public sector. The management curriculum will provide specialized competence on market positioning and analysis of the new e-business models in the digital age and the related legal issues. This module provides competence about re-engineering of organisational processes and implementation of digital information systems, thus promoting the acquisition of skills in order to use data supporting decision-making processes.

The final exam is concerned with writing a thesis dealing with the topic defined at the time of assignment with your supervisor, in order to complete the degree by means of: o analysis of relevant literature; o research and revision of practical cases. In the thesis, the student will show to have acquired knowledge, competence, and skills required by the learning objectives of the course. The final assessment will consider the student career during the whole training experience, as well as time and manner of acquirement of the ECTS credits, the exam marks and any mobility period abroad.
