Access is not restricted. Quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy: 20 seats (see https://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/). The admission requires to take a multiple-choice questions exam on Mathematics, Logic, English and General Knowledge. The test is compulsory but not binding for admission and, in any case, it allows to enrol regardless of the result obtained (see https://www.economia.unisalento.it/704).

Admission to this Degree course requires high school diploma, or another equivalent qualification obtained abroad and recognized as suitable.

The course provides a foundation for a wide range of careers in economics, financial and insurance areas. In particular, the course develops the knowledge of quantitative tools required to carry out economic and financial analysis activities in banks, insurance companies and credit institutions. In addition, it provides the skills in the business field necessary for managerial or analyst positions in companies and public administration. Other employment opportunities refer to insurance agent and securities broker.

The Degree course provides students with skills and knowledge necessary for understanding the basic aspects of economic and financial systems and with the competencies required for pursuing professional careers in managerial positions of banks, insurance companies and financial institutions. The first common two years provide basic training in Economics, Business, Accounting, Law, Mathematics and Statistics. The third year offers a choice between two curricular paths.The curriculum “Innovation Economics” is designed to provide students with a framework for understanding and supporting the basic processes driving economic growth and innovation. It focuses on quantitative methods and tools for the analysis of economic phenomena. The curriculum “Finance” is designed to offer students a multidisciplinary approach to the knowledge of financial markets and financial intermediaries. It focuses on the main quantitative methodologies and tools for data analysis and understanding financial decision-making processes.The course offers a Double Degree program in agreement with University of Valladolid and University of Lille.

The final exam consists of a written dissertation/thesis, assigned in one of the subjects studied by the candidate during the degree course. In particular, the dissertation is focused on:

• the analysis of the literature related to a specific topic/research and a discussion of a case study;
• an internship experience, followed by a detailed report on the results achieved and/or a focus on the problems faced during the internship, or a description of the courses attended during mobility periods abroad.

The candidate must demonstrate to have acquired knowledge and skills required by the course aims.

The final assessment is based on the student's career, including the marks obtained in the exams, the mobility period abroad, as well as the performance shown during the dissertation.
