Course description

The access to the programme is open. Test of the initial preparation in Algebra, Analysis and Geometry, with reference to high school programs, is mandatory.

Admission to the course requires a high school diploma or other equivalent and approved qualification obtained abroad. Students must possess adequate knowledge of basic mathematics. There are compulsory checks of possession of these requirements..

Univeersità del Salento, Polo Extraurbano, Ex Collegio Fiorini, via Prov. Lecce-Arnesano, Lecce

A graduate in Mathematics will be able to collaborate, using technical and operational skills, in activities which need to use and project mathematical models.

President of the Course: Professor Giovanni Calvaruso giovanni.calvaruso@unisalento.it Secretary: Sig.ra Anna Chiara Presicce annachiara.presicceòunisalento.it

The main purpose of the Course is to form graduates with a wide spectrum of knowledge and skills in Mathematics and its applications. This formation also allows students to increase their skills in other scientific areas which use Mathematics. The first two years provide a solid preparation in traditional areas like Algebra, Analysis and Geometry, and a basic preparation in IT and Physics. The third year completes this preparation and stimulate the individual interests of the students through the choice of courses

When a student achieves at leas 150 credits, he/she ask the President for a Professor who will follow him/her in the preparation of the degree thesis, a written paper organised into sections agreed by the student and supervisor, on a topic related to one or more courses he/she attended. In evaluating the final exam of each student, the Committee will take into account his/her career and his/her work during the thesis preparation.
