The PhD programme offers advanced training in the areas of philosophy and history of philosophy, with a particular focus on medieval, modern and contemporary philosophy. The program also aims to offer specific training in the reading and editing of medieval and modern manuscripts, philological study of texts, with a particular focus on the sources used. Also important is the training in theory, with the discussion of the most urgent ethical and theoretical issues.

All students enrolled in the PhD have to pay annually the "Regional tax for the Right to Education" in accordance with the amounts set annually by the Puglia region Right to Education agency (ADISU). This may vary from a minimum of 120,00€ to a maximum of 160,00€ per year. Further details, including the amount of any due stamp duty, are available in the "Call for applications" documents.
All doctoral positions are covered by a scholarship and obtained through a public competition. Sometimes you may also have places without a scholarship. PhD students who go abroad receive a scholarship surcharge.
