Course description
The course is divided into two curricula - "Digital media and journalism" and "Digital media and publishing" and aims to train graduates with advanced level professionalism, and which integrates the new skills and competences linked to the digital world, to operate in the public and private information and communication system and assume roles of responsibility in companies operating in the sectors of digital media, publishing and journalism.
It is also required to possess one of the following curricular requirements:
1) to have obtained the access qualification in one of the following degree classes ex DM 270 (or equivalent qualifications in previous systems or, if obtained abroad, recognized as suitable):

The functions in the professional contexts of graduates in the LM in question are many:- editorial work in press offices and communication of public institutions;
- editorial and editorial work in publishing houses;
- editorial work and writing of interviews, investigations, reports related to the various areas of journalistic information for off and online newspapers and for radio and television companies;
- editorial planning;
- storytelling planning of audiovisual content;
- production, revision and editorial editing of texts for communication and advertising agencies;
- production of original texts of an informative and popular nature and production, dissemination and promotion of content and services for the various sectors of the cultural industry;
- preparation of maps information and data management for journalistic information (data journalism) for newspapers and for companies specialized in social media monitoring and data analysis;
- organization and production of information and educational content for companies operating in the sectors of digital media, publishing, journalism and for research structures;
- organization and management of content and formats for the marketing of media companies;
- design of content and services of interactive systems on different devices (PC, smart TV, tablet, etc.);
- creation and management of blogs and social networks.
Skills
Graduates will be able to take on roles that require specific knowledge of the different media systems (with respect to variables such as technological development and advancement, historical-social contexts of reference, expressive characteristics, characteristics and composition of the public); skills in designing and managing content, formats and services of/for the different media systems, including digital platforms and social media; editorial content production and management skills; planning and management skills in audience analysis and market research; planning and management skills in marketing communication and social media marketing campaigns; in-depth knowledge of the information and publishing system and related legal and ethical aspects; journalistic writing skills, with regard to both the editorial, stylistic and rhetorical systems of each media format (print, radio, TV, online) and the specific methods of processing information in the various areas of journalistic discourse; knowledge and skills for the organization and management of press and communication offices.Sbocco

To obtain the master's degree, the student must present a thesis developed by the student in an original way under the guidance of a supervisor belonging to the scientific disciplinary sector or responsible for a course present in the student's curricular path. The thesis can be a compilation or research and can be accompanied by a digital product that is an integral part of the final work which consists of the preparation and subsequent presentation, with discussion, of a written paper (degree thesis) on a topic agreed with the supervisor.
