Course description

The Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy (L5) at UniSalento is characterized by a consolidated historical-philosophical tradition, combined with a strong vocation for innovation and interdisciplinarity. The educational offer allows for extensive customization and includes two distinct curricula:

1. CLASSIC curriculum which - in continuity with the classic curriculum of the Master's Degree in Philosophical Sciences - allows the guided obtaining of all the training credits necessary for access to the competitive classes qualifying for higher education A/19 History and Philosophy and, at the same time, A/18 Philosophy and Human Sciences.

2. INTERDISCIPLINARY curriculum which - in continuity with the interdisciplinary curriculum of the Master's Degree in Philosophical Sciences - extends to transversal and strategic disciplinary areas in relation to the world of culture, innovation and work.

The course is enriched by agreements with prestigious European universities such as Paris-Sorbonne, the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, the University of Cologne, the Pontifical Gregorian University, which allow international master's courses with a double degree. The teaching also makes use of the research results brought by the collaboration of nine important research centers, engaged in topics that range across the entire history of philosophy up to the most recent scientific frontiers in the philosophical field: 1. Interuniversity Center for the History of the Aristotelian Tradition; 2. CERTA - Research Center on the Aristotelian Tradition in the 15th and 16th centuries; 3. CETEFIL-Interdepartmental Center for the Edition of Medieval and Renaissance Philosophical Texts; 4. Departmental Center for Studies on Descartes – Ettore Lojacono, 5. Interdepartmental Research Center on Arthur Schopenhauer and his School; 6. CHAP - Center of Hermeneutics and Applied Phenomenology; 7. CISU - Interuniversity Center for Utopian Studies; 8. DH Center - Interdepartmental Research Center in Digital Humanities; 9. SFI-Società Filosofia Italiana, Salento section.

The course is completed by seminars, workshops and internships, creating professional figures capable of combining philosophical depth and operational skills in cultural and work contexts.

The training course includes the study of at least one European language and opens the possibility of enrolling in the Master's Degree in Philosophical Sciences, including the three master's courses with a double degree: Italian-German with Universität zu Köln, Italian-French with Paris-Sorbonne, philosophy of religion with the Pontifical Gregorian University.
The admission qualification is the possession of a high school diploma required by current legislation or another qualification obtained abroad, recognized as suitable according to current legislation.
The initial preparation is verified by means of an entrance test, aimed at ascertaining the possession of basic knowledge of logic and philosophy.
If the result of the entrance test is negative, additional training obligations (OFA) are foreseen which will be fulfilled within the first year of the Course.
