The course allows students to acquire and elaborate knowledge that can be used to work in the field of sport, both in the private sector and in public administrations. In particular, the course integrates knowledge and skills of a legal, economic and managerial nature, aimed at understanding the various profiles that come to light within the regulatory context of professional and amateur sport. It offers an adequate answer to the widespread demand for greater professionalism in the sector; it can be attractive not only for graduates from high school who want to pursue a legal-managerial career in the world of sport, but also for current sports operators who want to specialize and develop their expertise. Part of the course will be delivered in e-learning mode, but the remaining part will also be accessible remotely, in order to facilitate working and off-site students.
To be admitted to the Degree Course, it is necessary to have a high school diploma or other recognized qualification obtained abroad. Basic knowledge of the legal and managerial principles related to the world of sport are also required. These requirements will be subject to verification at the beginning of the academic year.
The basic knowledge will be verified through a specific test focused on elements of constitutional law, fundamental principles of sports law, health and sports ethics. Students who do not obtain a sufficient evaluation in the aforementioned test will have to recover the educational gap attending special seminars in the field of Philosophy and Ethics of sport in the Digital Age.
The peculiar approach of the course is functional to guarantee that the graduate can, already in the short term, make full use of the disciplinary skills, the scientific knowledge acquired, the understanding of the sports phenomenon, to fit into the different working environments (institutions, associations or companies) related to sport as a figure capable of operating at a managerial level. The graduated student may take on management and responsibility positions in sports institutions, sports associations and amateur and professional sports companies (e.g. general manager, administrative manager, treasurer, adviser, employee in the legal/marketing/communication/merchandising area, etc.).
The final exam consists of a written essay on a specific theme agreed with a Professor. The essay is discussed with a specific Commission. For the overall evaluation the Commission will also take into account the student's entire academic career.
