Campus Universitario Ecotekne Via Lecce-Monteroni, 73047 Monteroni di Lecce LE DISTEBA (Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies) is located in the Ecotekne campus that is an extra urban with the canteen, green areas, playgrounds, conference rooms, classrooms.
The degree course in Sport and Exercise Sciences is aimed at those who want to deepen their knowledge in the field of physical activity and sport. It proposes a didactic offer addressed to the preparation of professional operators able to plan and guide motor activities at amateur level and athletic preparation plans at competitive level. Particular attention is paid to those disciplines that allow the maintenance of psycho-physical well-being and the prevention of disorders derived from sedentary lifestyles. The graduate in Motor and Sport Sciences will have the skills to carry out professional activities related to motor and sports activities both in public and private facilities and in sports and recreational-social organizations, with particular reference to the evaluation of motor activities aimed at the prevention and maintenance of psycho-physical well-being through the promotion of active lifestyles. It will also be able to manage individual and group activities related to fitness.
Programmed, 180 places available. Quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy: 7 seats. The admission onto the Sport and Exercise Sciences degree programme is permitted after passing the TOLC-F online test, created by CISIA – the Inter-University Consortium for Integrated Admission Systems (www.cisiaonline.it)."
Admission to the course requires a high school diploma or other equivalent and approved qualification obtained abroad. Students must possess adequate knowledge of scientific disciplines (mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology) at the level corresponding to the schools' programmes high school. Basic skills and abilities related to the correct use of the Italian language in written form. Logical skills. There are compulsory checks of possession of these requirements. The procedures for checking academic requirements are indicated in the Course Regulations, published on the university website, which establishes the additional learning requirements (OFAs) to be achieved in the first year of the course if the initial requirements are not met.
The graduate in Sport and Exercise Sciences is a professional who can hold various types of positions in gyms, sports federations, local authorities and centers for the promotion of motor activities and public and private sports, in general, where people with a broad cultural background are required: - Non-competitive sports instructors - Organizers of events and sports facilities - Coaches and sports technicians
The final test for the Degree in "Sport and Exercise Sciences" consists in the discussion of a written paper, concerning a topic within the subjects included in the training course, prepared by the student with the guidance of a tutor. This paper may also consist of a report on the technical and practical activities, coordinated by tutors and teachers of the course, conducted in the gym and teaching laboratories, agreed upon.
