The Bachelor of Science in Information Engineering aims to provide adequate knowledge in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications and Automatic. It provides basic theoretical knowledge and operational skills for: - ICT industries operating in the areas of design and development of hardware and software solutions, in the area of information systems and computer networks; - electronic, electromechanical, space, aeronautical enterprises, to design and implement complex architectures, automatic systems and processes that integrate computer components, measuring and transmission devices; - companies involved in the design, production and operation of equipment, systems and infrastructures concerning the acquisition and transport of information and its use in applications; - public and private companies providing ICT services based on innovative technologies enabling the Internet of Things; - companies of design, construction and operation of electronic equipment and systems concerning the acquisition and processing of signals and their use in various application contexts.
The quota reserved to non-EU students residing outside Italy is 20 seats.
Admission to the Information Engineering degree programme requires a high school diploma or other equivalent and approved qualification obtained abroad. The admission is permitted after passing the TOLC-I online test, created by CISIA – the Inter-University Consortium for Integrated Admission Systems (www.cisiaonline.it (http://www.cisiaonline.it/))."
Graduates carry out professional activities related to related to the use of advanced Information Technology techniques and tools, taking advantage of their skills in Automation, Telecommunications and Information Technology. The employment opportunities and professional activities envisaged refer to positions in in technologically mature industries involved in the design, production and operation of systems in the field of Information and Communication Technology, information technology industries operating in the areas of hardware and software production, companies operating in the area of information systems and computer networks and companies providing IT services for the public administration.
The degree is awarded after passing the final exam, which requires the student to present a written thesis, not characterized by a particular originality, but which has the purpose of verifying the acquired maturity and ability of exposure of the graduate. The final exam must be an important individual training opportunity to complete the curriculum. The thesis proposed for the final exam refers to a practical-operational experience during which the student receives assistance from a supervisor related to the disciplinary scientific field of a course present in the student's curricular path and who is the teacher in charge of the course. There is no form of discussion of the proposed thesis.
