The PhD programme offers advanced training in the areas of nano- and bio-technologies, targeting frontier research in interdisciplinary and intersectorial fields in the frame of national and international projects and in synergies with industries. Individual training through advanced research will be provided to transfer sophisticated skills and state-of-the-art knowledge, competences and methodologies. Training and courses in complementary skills will also be part of the teaching programmes, spanning from presentation skills to fund raising, research management and IPR related aspects.

Training young researchers in nano- and bio-technologies would prime their careers, as these skills are presently highly sought. The acquired competences will offer excellent opportunities and advantages to find work in academic/research settings as well as biotech- and nanotech-based industries, hospitals and monitoring agencies.
All students enrolled in the PhD have to pay annually the "Regional tax for the Right to Education" in accordance with the amounts set annually by the Puglia region Right to Education agency (ADISU). This may vary from a minimum of 120,00€ to a maximum of 160,00€ per year. Further details, including the amount of any due stamp duty, are available in the "Call for applications" documents.
