Course description
The Course is composed, starting from the first year, of two paths focused on the themes of public management and tourism management and marketing (taught in English).
The path on public management will absorb the analogous curriculum present in the current Master's Degree Course in “Business Management” (LM-77 R), which will be subject to revision starting from the academic year 2025-26. The tourism management and marketing track, on the other hand, will absorb the current training offer of the Master's Degree in "Management of Tourist and Cultural Activities" (LM-49 R), which will be deactivated starting from the academic year 2025-26. For both of the aforementioned tracks, a series of innovations will be introduced in the organization and delivery of teaching functional to provide managerial skills that can be immediately used in the world of work, thus significantly improving the employability of graduates.
The main innovations mentioned above, which differentiate this CdLM from the current master's degree courses of the same class at regional and national level, essentially concern the extension of the duration of the training and orientation internship, which will occupy an entire semester. In particular, each curricular path includes, in the first three semesters, the provision of teaching in the various scientific disciplinary sectors involved and, in the fourth semester, a period of training and orientation internship in public or private companies (or in the university), in addition to laboratories, optional activities and final thesis work, for a total of 120 CFU. Furthermore, teaching will be provided by the teacher in person and simultaneously in telematic mode for specific categories of students and also, upon motivated request evaluated by the institutional bodies, for those who request it; it is possible to pre-record lessons in individual courses up to a maximum of established CFU; the recommended teaching method consists of frontal lessons, project work, case studies, company testimonials; the verification of the acquired skills will be carried out through exercises during the teaching activity, scheduled intermediate tests and final tests at the end of the teaching activity.
The exams will be held in person.
With regard to the contents and profiles of the respective courses, the following specificities are highlighted.
The course on the themes of public management is aimed at the managerial training of managerial figures operating in the Public Administration, in public-private companies and in third sector entities. The needs coming from the world of work and the need to acquire skills and knowledge necessary for public administration and to manage the corporate entities controlled and/or administered by them, at various levels, have motivated the creation of a master's degree managerial course specifically dedicated to the creation of highly qualified figures in the sector. The design of the course was therefore planned with a view to allowing the provision of contents regarding the economic-business principles and the logics that must guide the Public Administration with particular regard to planning, management and managerial control. The course therefore aims to provide qualified and current knowledge and skills capable of addressing and promoting the organizational change required of companies with particular attention to the needs of the public sector in order to promote a performance management process to support decision-making processes.
The course on the topics of tourism management and marketing is aimed at training qualified professionals and management figures operating in companies and entities active in the tourism-hospitality sector. The structure and contents conveyed in the course derive from a careful consideration of the growing demand for highly specialized managerial skills, coming from companies and entities operating in the tourism sector increasingly grappling with the opportunities and critical issues arising from the growing competitiveness of the markets and the digital and ecological transition. The course includes the provision of theoretical content and the development of practical skills, directly usable in the world of work, in the field of business economics, strategic management and marketing, as well as business organization, finance and economic, statistical and social sciences. The ultimate goal of the course is to train expert figures capable of planning and sustainably managing businesses and entities operating in the tourism sector, both locally and nationally and internationally.
Students will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired through internships and practical projects, collaborating with public bodies and companies in the tourism sector. The practical component of the course is designed to provide real experiences and operational skills directly applicable in the world of work.
