Course description

The master's degree course in Law lasts five years and is structured in three curricula. There is a common two-year period, with basic studies (Roman Law, History of Law, Private Law, Philosophy of Law, Constitutional and Public Law, Political Economy, Criminal Law, Administrative Law, EU Law, International Law). Starting from the third year, a curriculum can be chosen by students between three different courses of study: Classic; Environment Territory Innovation; European and International. A list of exams is common to the three curricula, as well as some practical activities and workshops.
In order to be admitted to the degree course, students must hold an upper secondary school diploma or another suitable qualification obtained abroad. They must take an assessment test, the outcome of which is not binding for enrolment purposes. Failure to pass the test results in the allocation of an educational debt established annually and recuperable through attendance of a specific course.
Master's degree graduates in Law will be able to access the lawers qualifiyng exams, the notary competition and the judiciary open competitive exams. Moreover, thanks to specific training periods and master's degrees, Master's degree graduates will be able to enter competitions for top positions in public administration and business.
The final examination is public. It consists of the discussion of a written thesis on topics related to the knowledge acquired during the entire training course, under the guidance of a lecturer. The grade for the final examination is between 66-110/110. By unanimous decision, the committee may award first-class honours to the candidate obtaining the highest mark.
