Course description

The Master's Degree in Performing Arts and Audiovisual Production Sciences, activated in an inter-university mode with the University of Bologna, aims to train professionals capable of providing consultancy, planning and management of mediated communication in multiple fields and to train in the understanding, critical learning and conscious and creative use of media and communication technologies, or professionals with media skills at a public level (schools, museums, libraries, media libraries, etc.), private (companies, industries and cultural enterprises) and in the third sector. This is a specialist path that, although focused on the languages of the audiovisual and the related production system, will also provide skills of a literary, historical-artistic, sociological nature, relating to applied digital technologies and management of the show.
The complex training offer is integrated by a wide choice of 'on the field' activities, such as laboratories, seminars and workshops, which will involve exponents of the world of art and entertainment. Students will also be able to put into practice the theoretical skills acquired in the classroom and enrich their training in view of entering the world of work by carrying out internships at institutions, public bodies or private companies that carry out activities in line with the disciplines taught in the course.
Students will be able to carry out training periods abroad at universities with which Erasmus exchanges are in force.

To access the Master's Degree in Performing Arts and Audiovisual Production Sciences (LM-65), you must have a degree in DAMS (L-3), or another qualification obtained abroad, recognized as suitable.
For graduates in possession of a first level degree in other degree classes, or in possession of a four-year degree or a first level academic diploma issued by institutions belonging to the system of higher education and artistic and musical specialization referred to in article 2, paragraph 1, of law 21 December 1999, n. 508, pursuant to article 1 paragraph 102 of law 288/2012, it is required to possess a set of credits functional to the formation of basic knowledge, and corresponding to at least 54 CFU distributed according to the following table:
• 18 CFU in the following scientific-disciplinary sectors: L-ART/02 and/or L-ART/03 and/or L-ART/04 and/or L-ART/05 and/or L-ART/06 and/or L-ART/07 and/or L-ART/08;
• 36 CFU in the following Disciplinary Groups: L-ART/* and/or L-FIL-LET/* and/or L-LIN/* and/or M-STO/* and/or M-FIL/* and/or M-DEA/* and/or SECS-P/* and/or SPS/* and/or M-PED/* and/or M-PSI/*.
Students in possession of these requirements are admitted following an individual interview with the Admission Test Commission, which will ascertain the adequacy of their preparation and their curriculum of studies, as well as their knowledge of the foreign language equal to level B1.
These skills will be ascertained with methods that will be defined in the teaching regulations of the Course of Studies

Follows the design and creation of new storytelling products in the audiovisual market;
- carries out research on product typologies, qualitative market analyses, studies and reports in the field of reception and practices;
- develops production and distribution strategies for new formats on the market;
- participates in the management and organisation of the production process;
- carries out scientific research and dissemination, communication or promotion activities on topics relating to the field of performing arts, audiovisual and cultural heritage;
- works in the audiovisual sector, using audience and market analysis tools.

The final exam will be worth 12 CFU.
The final exam will consist of the presentation and discussion before the commission of an original work in written or multimedia form, created under the guidance of a supervisor. The thesis will consist of an in-depth study of a topic related to the various forms of entertainment or multimedia production and will be accompanied by an extensive and updated bibliography. The arguments presented must start from documentary research and be conducted according to an interdisciplinary perspective and the results must be presented in a clear and coherent manner.
