Course description

The Master's Degree Course in Environmental Sciences is part of the LM-75 Class of Master's Degrees in Science and Technology for the Environment and Territory and has a duration of 2 years and is divided into two curricula: 'Environmental Impact Assessment and Monitoring' and 'Sustainability Development and Planning'. The aim of the Master's Degree Course in Environmental Sciences is to train graduates with a highly interdisciplinary cultural background in the field of Environmental Sciences, enabling them to carry out functions of high responsibility in various areas of public administration, private bodies and companies through the performance of scientific (research and design) and applicative (control and consultancy) activities.
Enrolment in the course requires the fulfilment of curricular requirements and the compulsory verification of initial preparation according to the terms and procedures specified in a specific regulation.
The occupational outlets of the environmental science graduate concern technical and collaborative activities in local administrations, public bodies and private companies in environmental matters. Free profession after access to regulated professions.
The final examination consists of the presentation and discussion in public session, of a thesis of an experimental and/or theoretical nature, making an original contribution, prepared under the guidance of one or more professors of the University of Salento, experts in disciplines of the Environmental Sciences.
