Course description

The Bachelor of Science in "Information Engineering: Electronics, Computer and Telecommunications" aims at providing adequate knowledge in computer engineering, electronic, and telecommunications.
The educational objectives are achieved with a methodological and multidisciplinary training approach. During the first two years, the BS offers fundamental and cross-cutting to ICT course units. In the third year, students can specialize their studies by choosing between three curricula: 1) Cybersecurity and availability of systems and network services, 2) Wireless systems technologies, 3) Electronics and sensors for ICT.
Additionally, the BS includes two elective courses that can be used to create a personal training, focused on a specific field of ICT or broad-spectrum.
Admission to the BS degree program requires a high school diploma or other equivalent and approved qualification obtained abroad. The admission is permitted after passing an online test (for more information visit https://www.dii.unisalento.it/immatricolazioni-e-iscrizioni/corsi-di-laurea).
Graduates carry out professional activities related to the use of advanced information technologies. The career opportunities are positions in technologically mature industries involved in the design, development, and operation of systems in the ICT field, ICT industries operating in the areas of hardware and software development, information systems and computer networks.
The degree is awarded after passing the final exam which consists in the development of a theoretical or practical activity (not necessarily original) related to one of the exams of the student's curriculum. The student must present a written thesis (no oral discussion is present).
