Course description

The three-year degree course in Computer Engineering is a new course of study organised by the Department of Innovation Engineering at the University of Salento. The duration of the course of study is three years and consists of a total of 180 CFU. The educational objectives of the degree include a solid basic training for graduates, which on the one hand allows direct entry into the world of work, and, on the other hand, the continuation of the educational pathway in a Master's degree course or, alternatively, in a first-level Master's degree.
Admission to the degree course requires an upper secondary school or equivalent qualification and an adequate technical-scientific background to be verified by an admission test.
The three-year degree courses delivered in Italian do not include an initial English language test.
Students who, on the basis of the test results, do not achieve an adequate preparation will be assigned Additional Formative Obligations (OFAs) relating to the disciplines in which the student has gaps to be filled in the first year.
Employment opportunities:
- IT departments of medium to large companies.
- IT and management consulting company.
- Network infrastructure design and implementation company.
The final examination consists in the presentation of a written paper, not characterised by any particular originality, which is intended to verify the maturity acquired and the graduate student's ability to expound. The final examination must constitute an important individual training opportunity to complete the curricular course.
