Course description

The course of study is characterised in the first two years by a path that aims to instil a solid foundation in mathematics, physics and chemistry, which will enable the student to develop an aptitude for solving engineering problems.
However, subjects with a high engineering content are also present in the two-year course to complete the basic training framework
The third year is characterised by the presence of engineering subjects typical of civil engineering, with a high design content. The courses are geared towards providing those basic design tools that will enable the young engineer to master basic civil engineering design problems from an analytical point of view.
Admission to the study course requires an upper secondary school or equivalent qualification and the passing of a test.
The student is required to have the following knowledge:
(a) a predisposition and adequate technical-scientific background;
b) a methodological approach appropriate to the training course undertaken;
(c) initial knowledge of the English language;
(d) basic computer skills.
As regards verification of initial preparation, specifically for points a) and b), students are required to pass a test consisting of multiple-choice questions mainly in Mathematics and Science. Students for whom the knowledge test is not positive will be assigned Additional Formative Obligations (OFA), to be fulfilled in the first year of the course, on the basis of what is established in the Didactic Regulations of the Course of Study.
Construction companies, hydraulic and geotechnical companies, public administrations, professional firms.
The final examination consists in the presentation of a written paper, not characterised by any particular originality, aimed at verifying the maturity acquired and the graduate student's ability to expound. The final examination must constitute an important individual training opportunity to complete the curricular course.
