Course description

The interclass degree course in Economics, Finance and Insurance (EFA) offers an educational pathway aimed at equipping graduates with economic-financial, management and legal knowledge, as well as quantitative, mathematical-statistical methods and tools, which are functional for professional insertion in the real, financial and insurance markets.
All three-year graduates from the Faculty of Economics may enrol for the master's degree. Those who hold another three-year degree must have acquired 60 CFUs in the various subject areas provided for class L 33, i.e. business, economics, mathematics-statistics and law.
Graduates in Finance and Insurance Economics can enter professional careers with a variety of entities operating in the economic, financial and insurance fields:
- Companies (particularly in financial and insurance management roles),
- Public bodies,
- Credit companies, Italian and international merchant banks,
- Market regulatory institutions and agencies,
- Central banks and monetary bodies,
- Study centres.
In addition, graduates of the LM16 class can practise as a freelance actuary after passing the state examination.
The final examination, for the award of the degree, consists of the drafting and public discussion of a written paper that addresses in detail the topic defined at the time of the assignment of the thesis by the supervisor through:
- analysis of relevant literature;
- research and review of practical cases.
