The Degree Course in "Economics, Finance and Innovation" provides students with training in economic, business, legal and mathematical-statistical disciplines, aimed at understanding the functioning of economic and financial systems, following and anticipating the evolution of markets and guiding their innovation processes also through the use of data and information analysis tools.
The Course also provides knowledge and skills related to the assumption of managerial, administrative and management roles and functions in banks, financial intermediaries, insurance companies, public and private institutions and bodies in the economic-financial field thanks to innovative teaching, divided into lessons, laboratories, case studies and internships.
In the third year, the Course offers two curricula chosen by the student.
The first, called Economics of Innovation, trains graduates able to support innovative processes in economic systems and agents in order to contribute to the definition of strategies for economic and social growth; this curriculum focuses on the methods and tools typical of economic-quantitative analysis, in order to provide the graduate with the skills necessary for understanding and analyzing markets and economic and environmental policy in innovative contexts.
The second curriculum, called Financial, prepares for entry into companies, banks and institutions in the financial and insurance sector, adopting an applicative and multidisciplinary quantitative analysis approach, in order to integrate knowledge relating to the functioning of markets, the competitive behavior of financial and insurance intermediaries in the perspective of the twin transition (innovation and sustainability), also through knowledge of the main quantitative methodologies for the analysis of economic-financial data.

To be admitted to the degree course, you must have a high school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad, recognized as suitable.
An appropriate study method, appropriate logical-deductive and logical-verbal skills, as well as basic knowledge of English and mathematics are also required.
These skills and knowledge will be verified through appropriate entrance tests.

The test will focus on knowledge of logic, English, general culture and mathematics based on the Secondary School programs.

Additional training obligations may be assigned only in the scientific-disciplinary sector SECS-S/06 - Mathematical methods of economics and actuarial and financial sciences, according to the criteria defined in the announcement for access to the degree courses of the Department of Economic Sciences.

The final exam, for the achievement of the qualification, consists in the drafting of a brief written paper that addresses the topic defined at the time of assignment of the thesis by the supervisor through:
- the analysis of existing literature and studies, with consequent retrieval of bibliographical material and, where possible, also empirical;
- the presentation of a research carried out on the predefined topic, relevant to the program of one of the courses activated in the degree course;
- the presentation of an analysis relating to a business case.
Through the paper, the candidate must demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities required by the specific training objectives of the course.
The final assessment also takes into account the student's entire career during the training course, the times and methods of acquiring university training credits, the assessments reported in the profit exams and the completion of training periods abroad.
