The Bachelor's Degree in Linguistic Mediation Science and Techniques trains professionals able to work independently in contexts requiring linguistic support for mediation and communication for tourism, commercial and technical purposes. It is organised into three tracks: Standard, a track for Albanian speakers, and a double degree with the University of Vlora (Albania).
The Standard track covers English, a second language chosen from French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Turkish and Albanian, and a further language from German, Portuguese/Brazilian, Arabic and Japanese, with a focus on written and oral translation in the English-Italian pair.
The internationally oriented track for Albanian speakers includes English, Albanian and a further language of choice, focusing on translation in the Albanian-English pair; Italian is the vehicular language and a specific subject of study.
The double-degree path with Vlora includes English, Albanian and a third language of choice, with translation in the Albanian-English pair; the first and third years take place at UniSalento and the second at the partner university.
Education is completed by cross-disciplinary subjects such as Italian literature and linguistics, semiotics and general linguistics, geography and history, together with basic computer skills, enabling critical and informed cultural mediation.

Admission requires an upper secondary school diploma or an equivalent qualification, or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable under current legislation. In view of the programme's specific objectives, a good preparation in the humanities usually studied at school, such as history and geography, is required. A good command of English and of any other languages that form a language pair in specific translation courses is also required. The programme runs preliminary, selective checks of the minimum requirements; any Additional Learning Requirements (OFA) must be cleared during the first year, as detailed in the admission procedures section.
