The aim of the course of study is to broaden the skills acquired by students during the three-year degree, paying particular attention to international issues. In particular, the courses activated will have an internationalist approach that will enrich the multidisciplinary skills already acquired in the legal, political, geographical, historical fields, privileging the internationalist, geopolitical and comparative aspects. The specificity of the course will be guaranteed through the activation of specialized teachings that will represent the natural evolution and continuation of the study path undertaken in the three-year path. No articulations in curricula are foreseen. To highlight the specificity of the scientific and didactic approach, the titles of the courses will not follow the ministerial denomination of the SSD. Knowledge of at least one language of the European Union (other than Italian) is also expected, as well as internship and seminar activities.

1. Specific historical-political, legal, geographical and political science skills are required for admission. For all students, admission is subject to the possession of curricular requirements, defined in the course of study regulations.
In particular, graduates who intend to access the master's degree must possess, under penalty of inadmissibility, the following requirement:

- first level degree pursuant to art. 3 c. 1 of Ministerial Decree 509/99 acquired in classes 15 (Political sciences and international relations) and 35 (Social sciences for cooperation, development and peace)

or

- first level degree pursuant to art. 3 c. 1 of Ministerial Decree 270/04 acquired in one of the following classes:
• L-6: Geography;
• L-11: Modern Languages and Cultures;
• L-12: Linguistic Mediation;
• L-14 Legal Services Sciences;
• L-16 Administration and Organization Sciences;
• L-36 Political Sciences and International Relations;
• L-37 Social Sciences for Cooperation, Development and Peace;
• L-40 Sociology;
• L-42: History;

or

- master's degree pursuant to art. 3 c. 1 of Ministerial Decree 270/04 acquired in one of the following classes:
• LM-16: Finance
• LM-36: Languages and Literatures of Africa and Asia
• LM-37: Modern European and American Languages and Literatures
• LM-38: Modern Languages for International Communication and Cooperation
• LM-52: International Relations
• LM-56: Economics
• LM-80: Geographical Sciences
• LM-81: Sciences for development cooperation
• LM-84: Historical Sciences
• LM-88: Sociology and Social Research
• LM-94: Specialized Translation and Interpreting

In addition to the possession of the curricular requirements, all students are required to undergo a personal preparation assessment, according to the methods defined in the regulation.

2. The requirement referred to in the previous point must be met by the date of the assessment test.

There are no training debts, or additional training obligations, at the time of access.

The thesis will consist of a public discussion, before a specific commission, of a paper that will require a commitment from the student proportionate to the number of CFU assigned to the test. For the purposes of the final assessment, the critical ability, the propensity for research, the autonomy of judgment, the argumentative and expository ability, the originality of the thesis work will be evaluated. The final assessment will also take into account the outcome of the final discussion which requires an active role of the teaching staff.
