Course description

Basic knowledge of archaeological heritage legislation is also required; sufficient ability to use the main IT tools for managing archaeological data and communicating them electronically; written and oral command of the English language.
Profile
ArchaeologistFunctions
Archaeologist, art historian, technical scientific operator in the cultural heritage sector. In particular, it carries out the functions of1) Identifying, recognising, analysing and documenting archaeological assets (inventorying and cataloguing, evaluations and identifications of archaeological contexts and sites and their formative processes, topographical research and ancient landscapes, archaeological excavation, prospecting, field documentation of archaeological assets, contexts and sites, inventorying, cataloguing, documentation and management of databases, territorial planning and programming, consultancy and appraisals also in the forensic field)
2) Protecting, conserving and enhancing contexts, sites, monuments and archaeological assets (organising, testing and evaluating conservation, maintenance, restoration, protection, transfer and movement of archaeological assets; conservation, maintenance, restoration, protection of archaeological contexts, sites and monuments, collaborating in inspection and surveillance activities on archaeological assets, contexts and sites)
3) Collaborating in the care of museums, collections and exhibitions of archaeological assets, as well as archaeological parks
4) Carrying out study, research, training, communication, education and dissemination in the field of archaeology and related and related disciplines.
Skills
ü Produce, acquire, process, control and manage, also through IT skills, knowledge data on landscapes, contexts and archaeological sites and on archaeological assetsü Document archaeological assets, contexts and sites from a historical point of view and conservation needs
ü Implement interventions in compliance with current technical and legal standards
ü Document the methods of conservation, safety and management of archaeological assets, contexts and sites.
ü Collaborate in the investigation of measures for the protection of archaeological assets, contexts and sites.
ü Participate in civil protection activities and emergency activities
ü Collaborate in all management, collection care, study, enhancement, communication, promotion and dissemination activities
ü Ensure the widest possible use and participation, also taking care of relations with the relevant territory
ü Manage conservation, maintenance and safety activities relating to museum collections of artistic goods
ü Carry out enhancement and scientific research activities relating to collections of artistic goods
ü Organize an exhibition of archaeological goods and contexts or a fruition path on archaeological sites
ü Participate in study and research bodies at public and private, national and international organizations
ü Manage editorial projects in the relevant disciplines
ü Plan and manage educational and communication activities relating to specific professional contents and tools
Sbocco
The Course aims to train archaeologists able to work as freelancers or with roles of responsibility, consistent with the type of skills acquired, at:Ministry of Culture (central and peripheral institutions and bodies, following a public competition, with roles non-managerial or for managerial positions after acquiring additional training qualifications where applicable);
Local territorial bodies (Region, Province, Municipality, Metropolitan Areas according to the respective recruitment regulations based on the type of contract);
Research bodies (National Research Council);
Other public bodies and institutions (Schools, Universities, based on the classification role, possibly after acquiring additional training qualifications and according to current regulations);
Companies, firms and private organisations in the sector of management, use and enhancement of archaeological assets, in particular companies, cooperatives and consortia operating with the OS 25 qualification (archaeological excavations)
National and international organisations aimed at cooperation and consultancy in the protection of the Archaeological Heritage
