Course description

The Master's Degree in 'Management of Territories, Public Administrations and Tourism' (Class LM-77 R) trains highly specialised professionals in managing public-administration bodies and the tourism sector, with sustainability as a cross-cutting theme.
From the first year, the programme is organised into two paths: 'public management' (in Italian) and 'tourism management and marketing' (in English). The first inherits the equivalent track of the 'Business Management' programme (LM-77 R); the second absorbs the provision of the 'Management of Tourism and Cultural Activities' programme (LM-49 R), discontinued from 2025-26. From 2025-26, the traineeship occupies a whole semester (the fourth), alongside courses, workshops, optional activities and the thesis (120 CFU); in-person teaching is complemented, for specific categories of students, by online delivery, with examinations held in person.
The 'public management' path trains managers for public administration, public-private enterprises and the third sector, with skills in planning, management and managerial control. The 'tourism management and marketing' path trains professionals and managers for the tourism and hospitality sector, with skills in business economics, strategic management, marketing, organisation, finance and the economic-statistical sciences, for sustainable management at local, national and international level. Traineeships and practical projects are provided; admission takes place following an interview.
All Bachelor's graduates in classes L-18 R and L-33 R may enrol in the Master's degree. In addition, holders of any Bachelor's degree who have acquired at least 60 CFU, distributed across each of the following disciplinary areas, may be admitted:
- economics (disciplinary fields SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03, SECS-P/06, SECS-P/12);
- law (IUS/01, IUS/04, IUS/05, IUS/06, IUS/07, IUS/09, IUS/12, IUS/14);
- statistics-mathematics (SECS-S/01, SECS-S/03, SECS-S/06, MAT/09);
- business (SECS-P/07, SECS-P/08, SECS-P/09, SECS-P/10, SECS-P/11, SECS-P/13, AGR/01).
Candidates must also demonstrate knowledge of at least one European Union language other than Italian. For the tourism management and marketing path, an adequate knowledge of English may be verified during the interview assessing the candidate's preparation, where not suitably certified.
