Course description
It provides the knowledge and skills needed to take on managerial, administrative and executive roles in banks, financial intermediaries, insurance companies, institutions and public and private bodies, thanks to innovative teaching consisting of lectures, workshops, case studies and traineeships. In the third year, students choose between two tracks.
The 'Economics of Innovation' track trains graduates able to support innovation processes in economic systems and to contribute to defining strategies for economic and social growth, focusing on the methods and tools of economic-quantitative analysis to understand markets and economic and environmental policy in innovative contexts.
The 'Financial' track prepares students to work in companies, banks and bodies in the financial and insurance sector, with a quantitative, applied and multidisciplinary approach, integrating knowledge of how markets work and how intermediaries behave, from the perspective of the twin transition (innovation and sustainability), also through the main quantitative methods for analysing economic and financial data.
An appropriate study method, suitable logical-deductive and logical-verbal skills and basic knowledge of English and mathematics are also required.
These skills and knowledge are verified through appropriate entrance tests.
The test covers logic, English, general knowledge and mathematics, based on upper secondary school syllabi.
Additional Learning Requirements (OFA) may be assigned only in the disciplinary field SECS-S/06 (Mathematical Methods for Economics, Actuarial and Financial Sciences), according to the criteria set out in the admission call for the programmes of the Department of Economics.
