The Master's Degree in Sciences for International Cooperation (based in Brindisi) provides advanced knowledge in the sociological, economic and historical-political disciplines, enabling students to analyse the social, economic and institutional forms of the Euro-Mediterranean countries, with particular attention to developing contexts, and to assess and manage international cooperation processes, including the relationships between gender and development and between peace and development.
Graduates acquire skills in the methodologies of multilateral and bilateral cooperation for development-aid programmes and peace missions, and can devise, draft and implement integrated programmes focused on economic and social development, support for vulnerable groups, poverty reduction, inter-institutional cooperation and sustainability. They also develop skills in monitoring and evaluation, project coordination and management and leading teamwork with scarce resources, as well as command of an EU language (in addition to Italian) and of communication tools.
Career outlets are in public administration and in international cooperation organisations, with positions of high responsibility. Internships and traineeships are provided at administrations, universities, international bodies, NGOs and research institutions; major NGOs and the two UN bases in Brindisi (UNGSC and UNHRD) collaborate.

To follow the programme successfully, candidates must have acquired a knowledge of English at level B2 and adequate individual preparation.
On pain of inadmissibility, the candidate must hold one of the following qualifications:
- a Bachelor's degree (Ministerial Decree 509/99) in classes 15 and 35;
- a Bachelor's degree (Ministerial Decree 270/04) in one of the classes: L-6 Geography; L-11 Modern Languages and Cultures; L-12 Linguistic Mediation; L-14 Legal Services Sciences; L-16 Administration and Organisation Sciences; L-18 Economics and Business Management Sciences; L-33 Economic Sciences; L-36 Political and International Relations Sciences; L-37 Social Sciences for Cooperation, Development and Peace; L-39 Social Work; L-40 Sociology; L-42 History;
- a Master's degree (Ministerial Decree 270/04) in one of the classes: LMG/01, LM-16, LM-36, LM-37, LM-38, LM-52, LM-56, LM-62, LM-80, LM-84, LM-87, LM-88, LM-94;
- a four-year (old-system) degree in Law.
In addition to the curricular requirements, an assessment of each candidate's preparation is provided. No Additional Learning Requirements are envisaged at admission.
