The course in Primary Education Sciences, code LM85bis, aims to prepare students to work as teachers in kindergarten and elementary school and offers advanced theoretical and practical training. The five-year, single-cycle degree course provides students with humanistic and scientific knowledge, as well as socio-psycho-pedagogical, disciplinary, managerial and ethical skills that are fundamental for the various educational and teaching activities necessary to work as a teacher. Graduates from this course are experts in the design and implementation of educational pathways, as well as in the evaluation of learning outcomes.

Students are interested in the teaching profession and, in the theories and practices of educational processes. It is necessary to have obtained a secondary school diploma or possess an equivalent qualification obtained abroad. There will be an admission test based on ministerial indications. The admission test consists of a multiple-choice test which generally takes place in September.

The course allows access to a career as a kindergarten and primary school teacher and to public competitions for the role in public and private schools

The final exam of the Course involves the drafting of a research or compilation thesis and the completion of all the school internship activities with the writing of a final internship report.

The Study Course in Primary Education Sciences has a substantial part of the school internship activities that students carry out at schools recognized by the Regional School Office and which activate a specific agreement and a training pact with the University of Salento
