Course description

The three-year bachelor's degree course in Psychological Science and Techniques enables the student to acquire basic knowledge of the various fields of psychological disciplines and scientific investigation methods and procedures, as well as some fundamental technical (conducting interviews, psychometric techniques, data collection and processing techniques) and operational (e.g., activity planning, communication, reporting, documentation management) skills, in order to work professionally - under the responsibility of master's degree or higher educational qualification psychologists - in the field of direct services to individuals, groups, organizations and communities.
The course allows access to the training paths of the LM-51 (Psychology) master's degree class.
Possession of a five-year high school diploma or other foreign degree recognized as equivalent is required. A selective entrance test verifies possession of a good level of general culture, basic syntax, spelling and text comprehension skills, logical and scientific reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking skills, and a basic knowledge of English
The transversal nature of the skills profile promoted by the course enables the graduate to pursue a plurality of employment outlets, both freelance and salaried. Possible employment contexts include: personal counseling services, school and training systems, local authorities, public administration, companies and businesses, communication and marketing agencies, third sector agencies
The final examination consists of a written paper, consisting of a short literature review on a topic of scientific interest, a psychological analysis of a phenomenon of socio-cultural interest; or a short report presenting original empirical research.
The test is intended to develop and test the student's autonomy of judgment and his or her ability to learn.
