Course description
Skills are acquired through motor and sports, biomedical and psycho-pedagogical disciplines, with laboratories and a 20-CFU curricular traineeship. The programme covers two areas: motor-sports (adapted physical activity, sport for disability, techniques for inclusion) and biomedical (mechanisms of disabling conditions, rehabilitation and prevention through exercise, services and aids, adaptation of exercise by age and type of disability).
Graduates work in public and private facilities (schools, gyms, fitness and functional-recovery centres, sports clubs), in Italy and abroad, with interventions for different ages and special populations, and may take part in the competitions for teaching physical education. The qualification (120 CFU) confers the title of Master's graduate. The programme, based in the DiSTeBA department, has capped admission (65 places).
In the absence of this requirement, admission is subject to holding a degree, a three-year or four-year university diploma, a qualification recognised as suitable under special legislation, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable, together with at least 60 CFU in the basic and characterising areas of Class L-22, in the qualifying fields of physical and sports activity (M-EDF), physiology, biochemistry and anatomy. Any curricular gaps must be filled before enrolment.
In addition to the curricular requirements, admission involves passing an interview assessing the candidate's basic preparation in Sport and Exercise Sciences. The assessment covers the essential theoretical aspects of the preparatory subjects, based on knowledge of the systems and organs involved in physical activity, as well as the biochemical and physiological changes and adaptations induced by physical exercise and the content and methods of the motor and sports disciplines.
