Course description

The Degree Course in DAMS - Disciplines of Arts, Music and Entertainment - aims to provide adequate basic cultural training, with particular reference to the contemporary age, and to enable students to acquire historical and critical-analytical skills in the field of music, cinema and entertainment. This basic training, based on the idea of the organic nature of the different forms of artistic expression, is integrated with the contribution of skills relating to the literary, historical, philosophical, anthropological, sociological, economic and legal fields, in order to allow students to understand and contextualize the notions acquired in the classroom. The complex educational offer is integrated with a wide choice of 'on the field' activities, such as laboratories, seminars and workshops, which will involve exponents of the world of art and entertainment. Students will also be able to put into practice the theoretical skills acquired in the classroom and enrich their training in view of entering the world of work by carrying out internships at institutions, public bodies or private companies that carry out activities in line with the disciplines taught in the course.
Students will be able to carry out training periods abroad at universities with which Erasmus exchanges are in force.
The acquisition of broad-spectrum skills regarding the performing arts, with attention also to the practical aspect, will allow students to make more informed choices, both in the case they intend to continue their studies, in a specific or related Master's Degree Course, and in the case of their entry into the world of work.
Taking into account the nature of the Course, interdisciplinary and plural, but strongly coherent, the graduate's training will be that of a professional in the field of music and live and reproduced entertainment, capable of operating in the cultural, media and live entertainment industry, through the conception and organization of events and their design, production and promotion.


Basic knowledge is required, acquired by obtaining a high school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad and recognized as suitable according to current legislation.
In particular, it is necessary to have:
- a good general culture;
- logical and reasoning skills;
- ability to read, understand and interpret texts and documents;
- a good ability to express oneself in Italian.

Basic knowledge will be verified in advance with the administration of non-selective tests. Verification of possession of such knowledge is mandatory. Any deficiencies must be made up within the first year of the Course and according to methods that will be established by the Course Regulations

- takes care of specialized editorial pages;
- drafts informative and promotional material on shows, performances and events, also for press offices;
- drafts informative or specialized texts in relation to the cultural event;
- drafts criticisms and reviews on musical, theatrical and cinematographic events;
- drafts texts and materials for theatre and cinema websites;
- develops texts and materials for websites relating to events and performances in the theatre, music and entertainment sectors, including streaming;
- collaborate in the design of public tenders, including international ones, in cultural matters;

The final exam consists of the preparation of a short written essay in Italian or English or the production of a multimedia essay, relating to a subject taught in the Course. During the discussion, the members of the Commission may ask the candidate all questions aimed at ascertaining his/her preparation. In assigning the degree grade, the Commission takes into account the progress of the discussion and the candidate's curriculum vitae.
