UNIVERSITY CORRIDORS FOR REFUGEES - UNICORE 8.0 PROJECT

Call for applications for n. 1 scholarship for refugee students admitted to second-level degree courses at the University of Salento for the academic year 2026-2027 

The overall objective of the project University Corridors for Refugees - UNICORE 8.0 is to promote the right to higher education of refugees through the creation of educational corridors from Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe 2026-28 to Italy.

Project beneficiaries are refugees residing in Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

The winner of this selection will be entitled to enrol in one of the second level courses listed:

The benefits that will be provided to the winner directly by the University of Salento are:

  • An annual scholarship amounting to €6.079,45 . The maximum duration of the scholarship is 30 months (2 academic years plus a maximum of 6 additional months to allow you to graduate by April 2028). The winner will receive detailed information during the application process; 

  • Exemption from university fees and contributions; 

  •  Free accommodation from the beginning of the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year for the entire duration of the project (max. 30 months) (only if not already provided by ADiSU Puglia);

  • Support for administrative procedures and access to local services;

  • Free Italian language course at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo;
