Course description

The Master's Degree in Social Services, Public Policies and Human Rights prepares professionals able to work autonomously and to carry out functions of management, governance, coordination and evaluation of social services and policies in various areas: social-health integration, services for individuals and families, migration, social exclusion and marginalisation, vulnerable groups and welfare, including in the context of humanitarian crises and emergencies, to which a specific track is devoted.
Faced with the crisis of welfare systems, the programme promotes new tools for interpreting individual and collective needs and an evaluative approach that fosters participation and integration between institutions, facilities, businesses and individuals; this is accompanied by a vocational track in the evaluation, design and management of social policies and services (12 exams, 120 CFU).
Graduates acquire advanced knowledge of social work and of the analysis of social phenomena, skills in the design of and support for individuals, families, groups and communities, in the research and evaluation of interventions, in the management of complex services, and in professional consultancy and supervision.
Career outlets: managerial roles in the planning and management of social services in public and private bodies and positions of responsibility in information, education and welfare. After the State examination, graduates may register with Section A of the Register of Social Workers.
For all students, admission is subject to the following requirements:
- L-39 Bachelor's degree in Social Work, obtained under Ministerial Decree 270/2004 or the corresponding degree class under Ministerial Decree 509/99, or an equivalent qualification;
- a University Diploma in social work;
- a diploma obtained at the Special-Purpose School for Social Workers.

Regardless of the curricular requirements, an assessment of each candidate's preparation is provided, in the ways set out in the Teaching Regulations.
