The course, organised in collaboration with the University of Bologna, aims to train professionals able to provide consultancy, to plan and manage the media communication in several areas. It also provides skills in understanding, critical learning and conscious and creative use of media and communication technologies, both at the public (schools, museums, libraries, media libraries, etc.), and private activities (companies, industries and cultural enterprises).
This is a specialised course, which, although focused on audiovisual languages and the related production system, will also provide literary, historical, artistic, sociological linguistic skills, relating to applied digital technologies and management of the performance.
In this perspective, laboratory, training and internship activities take on particular importance, sine they will allow students to apply "in the field" the theoric skills acquired during the course.
Programmed, 100 places available. Quota reserved to non EU-students: residing outside Italy: 15 seats, of which 5 are reserved for Chinese students living in China. The admission is permitted after passing a test of knowledge of the Italian language. Further details about the test are available at the following link: https://bbcc.unisalento.it/home_page.
Non-EU students with the Italian language certification C1, C2, or level B2 of the Council of Europe certification are exempted from the Italian language test.
Admission to the course requires a degree in Disciplines of Music and Performing Arts or an equivalent foreign degree. In order to be admitted, graduated students must have a basic knowledge in the the fields of Music, Theater, Cinema and Audiovisuals (54 ECTS); Art History, Languages and Literature, History, Traditional cultures, Sociology (18 ECTS). Before the admission, students have to check their academic requirements in an interview which is also meant to test the possession of the level B1 of the foreign language. The procedures for checking academic requirements are indicated in the Course Regulations, published on the university website. There are three admission interviews scheduled for each academic year and taking place in the months of September, December and April. The admission test is organized also taking into account the needs of students with disabilities, in agreement with the Disabilities Integration Office.
The employment opportunities and professional activities envisaged refer to positions in public and private institutions involved in the production and distribution of audiovisuals; in archives, film and media libraries, cultural associations; streaming services and digital platforms; independent and major societies of production.
The final exam should demonstrate the acquisition of skills relating to the subjects being studied. It consists of an oral discussion of a written paper on a theme agreed between the student and the supervisor, and congruent with the specific aims and contents of the degree course. The assessment takes into account - in addition to the quality of the paper and the final exam - the individual curriculum, and the marks obtained by the student in the exams. The degree thesis must be the result of an original research activity, carried out under the guidance of a supervisor, on issues related to the disciplines studied by the student in his training. The thesis is checked by a co-supervisor and discussed publicly in the presence of the graduation commission.
