Course overview/Course outline

The course will provide skills and knowledge which allow the social worker to carry out his activity within the organized system of social resources, acting according to the principles, skills and methods specific to the profession. Graduates must be able to manage, organise, plan and coordinate social work. For this reason, the Degree Course moves on two educational levels: 1. the first includes training activities related to the study of basic disciplines in the sociological, anthropological, legal-economic, psychological and historical fields and to the acquisition of methodologies and techniques typical of social research; 2. the second concerns training activities aimed at acquiring organizational and programming skills and implementing the interventions of the social service, as well as skills in the field of communication and information management. The training path is completed with the professional internship which allows a strong integration between theory and practice.

Access to the programme

Free access course The admission test of an assessment nature will verify the possession of the knowledge necessary for access to the degree course. The test will consist of an online multiple choice test to be carried out after enrollment electronically, using the same login and password of the student and which he uses to access the student portal. Admission Requirements

Admission to the course requires a high school diploma or other equivalent and approved qualification obtained abroad. Furthermore, knowledge of the general aspects of the contemporary social structure is required, with reference to the Italian case inserted in the European context; a knowledge of the basics of social legislation, an adequate ability to understand texts and a good level of written and oral expression.

Career opportunities

The employment opportunities and professional activities envisaged refer to positions in private and public sector: Local Health Authorities, Hospital Companies; Ministry of Justice Prison administration Local authorities; Third Sector Organizations Freelancer (also as a researcher on his own, associated or affiliated with public and private social research and social service bodies)

Final exams and graduation

The final exam consists in the presentation by the student of a written paper, agreed with a professor (supervisor) related to the disciplinary scientific sector present in the student's curricular path. The final exam aims to evaluate the student's ability to develop a topic among those covered during the studies, and / or to reflect on the internship experience, in the direction of ascertaining the possession of theoretical-practical skills consistent with the specific objectives of the study course.
