Course overview/Course outline

The Degree Course in Philosophical Sciences aims to offer students a wide and structured set of skills of historiographic, conceptual, logical and critical-hermeneutical nature. The objectives to be achieved at the end of this course are a deeper knowledge of the history of philosophical problems, from antiquity to the present day, and a consolidated familiarity with the contexts. The training course includes 8 exams (five in the first year and three in the second) and one final test. During the first year, it is expected that skills in Theoretical Philosophy, Moral Philosophy and the History of Medieval Philosophy will be acquired, together with Pedagogical and Psychological Disciplines. In the second year, the training course will mainly focus on the historical-philosophical and historical fields. The Degree Course also boasts three internationally renowned research centres, namely the "Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Philosophical Texts" (CETEFIL), the "Interdepartmental Centre for Studies on Descartes and the 17th century", the "Research Centre on Arthur Schopenhauer and his school". Starting from A.A. 2015/2016 the Degree Course in Philosophical Sciences also offers the possibility to access two international training courses of excellence with the Sorbonne Université (Paris) and the Universität zu Köln with the award of a double degree valid in both partner countries.
