Economics and Finance (BA)

Double degree program

International partners: Universidad de Valladolid (Spain); Université de Lille 1 (France)

Available places: 200 (5 places available for students enrolled in the double degree program in Spain and 5 for the double degree program in France).

Career opportunities Financial managers, bank managers, insurance agents, exchange brokers, stockbrokers, securities brokers and similar professions.

Course outline During the first two common core years, students study economics, business administration, law, mathematics and statistics. The third year is divided into two curricular paths: “innovation economics” where students master areas regarding economic growth and innovation, and “finance” where studies are focused specifically on the financial aspects.

  • Double degree with Valladolid: The double degree with Valladolid will take 4 years, instead of the normal 3 years of a basic BA degree. Students enrolled in the double degree program will spend the first two years studying in Italy and the third year abroad (Spain), at the end of this period they will obtain an Italian degree.  Then they need to earn another 60 credits in Italy during their 4th year in order to obtain the Spanish degree.
  • Double degree with Lille: Students enrolled in the double degree program will spend the first two years studying in Italy and the third year abroad (France). After completing this period of study they will obtain their double degree (Italian-French).

Course outline During the first two common core years, students study basic theoretical knowledge in the areas of business, economics, mathematics, statistics and law. The third year is divided into two curricular paths: “managerial”, in which students master the areas concerned with corporate governance decision making; and “professional”, which directs students towards the ‘professionalization’ disciplines: “territorial development” for territorial resource management. The double degree with Valladolid will take 4 years, instead of the normal 3 years of a basic BA degree. Students enrolled in the double degree program will spend the first two years studying in Italy, the third year abroad (Spain) and they need to earn another 60 credits in Italy during their 4th year in order to obtain the Spanish degree.

Course outline The course provides theoretical and practical skills in translation (transcreation, subtitling, CAT tools) and interpreting (dialogue, consecutive and simultaneous). Though the focus is principally on developing language, translation and interpreting skills there are also modules on principles of translation as well as core subject areas such as cinema, economics, sociolinguistics, tourism and intercultural communication. The thesis will be based on a classroom project.
