Course description
In recent years, the flow of migrants in the Euro-Mediterranean area has led to a crisis in the regulation models of migration phenomena. At the same time, new professional figures capable of grasping and managing its complexity have become urgent. It appeared necessary to define new governance strategies and to train new actors working for new inclusive societies, consciously inter-cultural. In order to achieve this, it's necessary to analyse the transformations taking place, and providing answers to the questions posed at supranational, national and local levels. The CoM proposed a multi-disciplinary offer, combining juridical, economic, geographical, political-social and historical approaches to the multilevel governance of migration policies and processes.
The skills required for admission are assessed by means of an oral interview. It is not-selective, but purely fact-finding, and aimed at knowing the acquired experience on migration issues. It held in three different sessions, (September, December, April). In July, the Department of Law publishes a call for applications setting out the requirements and procedures for admission.
The CoM prepares for roles of responsibility in the public, private and service sectors in the field of immigration policies. The graduate can perform coordination and management functions, both in the public and private sectors, both at the national and international level, and contribute to the definition of an efficient governance of the migration phenomena in the Euro-Mediterranean area.
The final examination takes place in the form of a public discussion of the candidate's thesis work, in the presence of the thesis supervisor and a Commission appointed by decree of the President of the Teaching Council. The procedures, deadlines and the awarding of marks are governed by a specific Regulation for dissertations.
